'Deep Down' Officially released today

'Deep Down' is the second single from my new album and it is officially released today. This feels like the gateway to the 2018 release of the record, finally.

It's been a long year of treatment for my illness. Another year of patience, resilience, determination and faith. I have had to call on so much inner strength to stay strong when I couldn't do much else except trust. I had to put a lot of faith in my doctors, my body and myself. The process of being this unwell has really given me the opportunity to tune in deeply. I had to disappear from the outside world, which is why you haven't heard from me in a while. I had to go into the cave to find the answers.

It felt important to release 'Deep Down' at this time, to honour the huge year of healing that is passing. It also means I have a song to share with you for Christmas!

So! You can find the song at: https://rebeccamoore.bandcamp.com/track/deep-down-3

It's downloadable for free or you can nominate any amount for it. :)

Deep Down was written about an amazing place on the South Coast of NSW, Australia where a group of musicians and dreamers used to meet around a beach fire each year at New Year's to play music and connect. We would stay till the sun came up, playing music till the first light over the sea on the Eastern horizon signalled the beginning of a new day, a new year. Deep Down is a celebration of love, beauty, nature and inspiration. It speaks of the connectedness of Spirit, the light beyond and within ourselves. The stars, the moon, the ocean, the fire. It is the transcendent, iridescent, sacred joy that comes from truly living, sharing and breathing in the moment. Of feeling free and not wanting the night to ever end. On those nights, we truly are "deep down in the middle of light".

I am looking forward to moving forward from here and cant wait to be back out there touring and seeing you on the road somewhere soon. I have a new doctor and things are really looking up. Until I can be out there face to face, I am planning on doing some live online shows next year so I will let you know when that is happening!

If you have a minute to write to me and share how you are going I would really love that!

May Christmas be a meaningful time for you. In 2018 may all your deepest wishes and heart's desires be fulfilled.

With so much love,

Rebecca xo

Waves Upon Waves

I want to share this fantastic orchestral piece written by Reinhard Flatischler 'Waves Upon Waves' that I absolutely love. As well as being the creator and founder of Taketina, Reinhard is also a highly accomplished musician, composer and teacher. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mWfJmL5wn2Y

An update!

Writing with an update on my health condition. I am a lot better than I was, but it's still tough going. I have an amazing new doctor and treatment plan which is working, but has it's up and it's down days. As always, music is the golden thread through the weaving and there are a lot of new songs hanging out with me which is illuminating! I am working on the final stages of the "Return" album cover and geez isn't that title becoming more and more relevant as time goes by. "Rising From Ashes" would have also been appropriate! Miss you all and cant wait to be out on the road, back from the other side and up from the Underworld with treasure for you. Sending big love. xo

Album Artwork!

Here is the artwork for the song Deep Down from my album 'Return' which will be released in 2017!

Crystal Sound Therapy & Taketina-Path of the Rhythm Warrior

2016 has been a big year for me! Even though I could only manage to play two shows due my mystery illness, I did find an fantastic way to entertain myself. Studying! I am currently studying two courses while working on getting well enough to get back to touring and gigging!

The first course is Crystal Sound Therapy using quartz crystal singing bowls. This is a great tool for pain relief and relaxation. I have also been playing the bowls with my piano which gives a unique layer to the songs. It's also really amazing learning about the power of sound for healing. There are many great things about sound therapy, but one that really struck me was that the ear connects directly into the central nervous system and this is one reason why sound healing is so effective. The sound waves pass through the ear, and directly calm the central nervous system. If you know anyone suffering with a chronic pain condition, insomnia or anxiety & depression, then sound therapy (and particularly the Quartz Crystal Bowls) can be amazingly beneficial on so many levels. It is even just great for increasing well being, sleep quality and energy. Here are some pictures of my quartz crystal bowls!

The other course I am studying is an amazing rhythm teacher training course with Austrian pianist, composer and drummer Reinhard Flatischler. It is called the TaKeTiNa Rhythm Process and is a three year rhythm psychology course. The effects of TaKeTiNa are quite profound. It is used in academic and clinical settings worldwide as a tool for pain management, relaxation and self-mastery. I am finding it has already had a great impact on my piano playing.

2017 will be a fantastic year which will finally see the release of my album 'Return'. We have some great new t-shirt designs made up and the album cover is ready to send to the printer. More information on that to come! I will also be releasing the videos from the Steel City Strings Orchestra shows soon which are shaping up beautifully.

I wish you all the best for Christmas and the holiday season, plus love and inspiration for a prosperous and fulfilling New Year!!

Update on my situation...

I wanted to share an update on my current situation...The diagnosis is Median Arcuate Ligament Syndrome. Otherwise known as MALS or Celiac Artery Compression Syndrome. This is where the blood supply to the digestive system is cut off by the ligament of the diaphragm. (Worse when breathing in and singing!) The surgery I had released the artery and allowed the blood to flow again. I got a bit better for a month or so, but then relapsed in January and have not been well since then. MALS means it's hard to eat without feeling sick. I mostly eat very small meals of specific foods and smoothies. I wanted to share what's been going on as it's isolating being so unwell and I need some moral support! Another symptom besides not being able to eat properly is "exercise intolerance" which means I get a lot of pain if I move around too much. One of the most challenging things is it's been a year since I gigged properly. This is the longest stretch of no gigs since I started working as a musician and I used to get the blues after two weeks of no shows!! On the bright side I have been doing a lot of songwriting. As I mentioned in an earlier post, I am putting a lot of creative energy into my music page. It’s a way for me to stay connected and share my inspirations and love of the creative source that is the heart of my songwriting and music. Love to all challenged by life’s twists and turns from the beautiful, rainy South Coast. x https://www.facebook.com/RebeccaMooreMusic/
