Success at the 2012 Musicoz Awards

My song Behind the Stone was nominated for the World/Folk award at the Sydney Opera House on Tuesday night. This was the top 5 for that category. It was great to hear it loud through the Opera House PA when they announced the nominees!! :) I had a fun night. It was brilliant to see what Musicoz are doing for independent music and musicians in Australia. A couple of other highlights were Sarah McLeod's comparing and Dallas Frasca's live performance of her song 'All My Love', which was smokin' awesome!!

Songs from the new album are in the 2012 Musicoz Finals in the Rock, Pop, Acoustic Singer/Songwriter, Blues/Roots and World/Folk categories! The awards night is the 15th May at the Sydney Opera House. Inspired to see what the songs will bring back from their first trip out into the world! :)

A home in the trees...

After 3 years of full time touring, I have found myself a home in the forest near the Royal National Park South of Sydney...it is very beautiful and so good to be back by the ocean again. Peace for the soul. I'm working on paintings for the album cover...the master is almost finished and we are very happy with it. Looking forward so much to sharing the new music...

Yackandandah Folk Festival!

Hey folks!

Happy to announce that I will be playing at the Yackandandah Folk Festival, Victoria in March! Really looking forward to being back in gorgeous Victoria again and playing at this great festival.

Stay tuned for album release info soon. We just signed off on the final master this week. Now it's time to create the artwork for the cover! :)

Home

A whole month has gone by since I last wrote and I am now back in Australia after spending the past 6 months in London recording the new album. We are very close to having the final mixes done now. It is so inspiring to hear all the songs together and almost complete!

Recording the string quartet for my song Storm in the Weather was one of the most rewarding musical moments of my career so far.

It was also great to come home to the South Coast of NSW and spend some time with my son and family after being away for so long. It hasn't really felt much like summer here yet, but we did get to the beach on Christmas Day for a swim which was good. The ocean down here is so clear and beautiful, even though the water is freezing!

Really looking forward to the next phase which will find me living near Sydney again and preparing for the album's release in 2012.
