A whole month has gone by since I last wrote and I am now back in Australia after spending the past 6 months in London recording the new album. We are very close to having the final mixes done now. It is so inspiring to hear all the songs together and almost complete!

Recording the string quartet for my song Storm in the Weather was one of the most rewarding musical moments of my career so far.

It was also great to come home to the South Coast of NSW and spend some time with my son and family after being away for so long. It hasn't really felt much like summer here yet, but we did get to the beach on Christmas Day for a swim which was good. The ocean down here is so clear and beautiful, even though the water is freezing!

Really looking forward to the next phase which will find me living near Sydney again and preparing for the album's release in 2012.

I love the seasons changing.

I have been lucky enough to experience two Autumns this year. Watching the leaves turn and fall in Bright, Victoria Australia in April and May was magic, and now I'm watching the same in London. Slowly the days and nights are cooling down and at one or two in the morning when I emerge from the studio at the end of another day working on the record, the air is cold and clear.

I would LOVE to see London in the snow...reports say early snow may be on the cards, I hope so!!! If it snows before I go, that would be a major highlight of my trip!

It's funny to be experiencing the air turning towards winter here in the UK, knowing that in just over a month I will be flying into the Aussie summer in Sydney. This week I booked my tix home which was both exciting and a bit sad too. Totally mixed emotions heading back...

Totally busy with so much exciting stuff going on! :)

Much to report....

Spent today in the studio with Martin Russell and Richard Marcangelo working on drums for the new single Pretty Big Mess! Al Stewart was here yesterday recording baritone, sax, alto-sax and clarinet on my track Not My Island. This week we also recorded vocals, 12-string guitar and mandolin for my song Behind the Stone. The 12-string and mando together sound so good!! Guitarist Dave Sparks once said, “I like this song, it’s medieval”.

I went to Paris earlier this month and found it to be the most beautiful city I have been to so far! I traveled there on the ridiculously fast Eurostar under the English Channel. 300kms per hour at top speed with the tunnel dug 75 metres below the seabed! The Eiffel Tower was amazing too. I went up there at sunset and watched the full moon rise. Being in Paris is like walking around in a painting. The air smells of a mixture of vanilla, wine and roses in the sun. So beautiful!

I went to see the Greek sculpture The Nike of Samothrace at the Louvre. I love this sculpture for the way she embodies beauty and emancipation from the physical form into the freedom of the spirit. Even though made of stone, she flows like the wind. This amazing masterpiece has inspired a lot of the imagery in my songs and writing. In the song Tasmania, from my first album, she is “the arrow of eternity”.

On 21st September I went to an APRA songwriter talk by Sarah Blasko. She is a great Australian songwriter and I love her musicianship and the artistry in her work. It was really interesting to hear her talk about her songs and writing process.

I spent the weekend past in Northern England at the Cropton Folk and Roots Festival where I played 5 sets and had some fun jamming on my mandolin with the guys from great English Bluegrass band Goldrush.

Very excited to share more tour stories and news of the new album as it nears completion very soon!

In love with The Isle of Skye

Time is ABSOLUTELY flying and I have suddenly found myself on the road in Scotland with an hilarious Harp/Dobro playing Englishman called Eddie and a great singer songwriter from Germany called Thomas. We just spent the past few days gigging on the GORGEOUS Isle of Skye in Scotland. It really is the most beautiful and exhilarating place I have ever been to.

Last night we did a gig in a pub called Saucy Mary's which was full of very drunk Scotsman who danced to a 15 minute long version of Joni Mitchell's 'This Flight Tonight'. Eddie and I had a mad jam on as many blues tunes as I could remember and it really was a great fun show. The night before we were in stunning Carbost and we played a whole lot of acoustic tunes to a very full pub, and oh my god the whiskey was incredible!

I am now in Edinburgh, sitting in the sun in the flat of a Scottish lass from the Isle of Skye who arranged our tour for us. We have two more days here, then I am heading back to London. Back...to my FLAT in London! It really is very exciting to have a place to be after so many months of traveling. I really am looking forward to doing some cooking, making some smoothies and cranking out the blender for some dairy free ice-cream.

Orphans money takings and cd sales have been going very well which is good and there are some great gigs coming up in the next few months...

Looking forward to getting back into the studio this week and finishing off the album. Then it's time to complete the artwork and do the final photo shoot before heading back to Australia!

That being said, I love it here so much...the UK feels like home.

The full moon eclipse, the UK and the summer ahead...

Day one in the UK and I found myself lying in the gorgeous midday sun, in the middle of London (at my lovely friend Penny's place) working on my computer in what very much resembled a field surrounded by yellow flowers, stone walls and lady bugs. It's very easy to fall into some kind of medieval fairy tale in London, I love it! An early morning session in the hotel gym gave me a good dose of reality though, so I am attempting to get the balance right. Something strange has happened with time since I arrived here. I feel like time is going really slowly which is actually very relaxing. I have been waking up in the morning with 4 hours still to go before I really should be getting up! This is creating a sense of peace which I dont often have the pleasure of experiencing! Excellent. Some peace! Hooray.

The summer is stretched out before me from here and I think that today's full moon eclipse is a great way to begin the next chapter of a bright new journey. I feel like I am in the right place being in the UK, and it's almost like the songs have come home in a way. It is very strange that I would write songs in Australia, but feel like they are "home" when they are here.

My head just fills up with thoughts of Led Zeppelin, Fairport Convention, and folk rock history when I am here. It's like I enter some strange kind of music time warp which involuntarily overtakes my mind. Like a part of my brain is part of that time, and that is the place that the music wants to spring from. For now at least. There appears to be so much to say. And if I can get through this phase of the writing and produce something, then I am excited to learn what lives beyond the boundaries of this whole Folk Rock thing in my mind. It's another world, and I have no idea what lies out there.

Having said all this, I am fully submerged in the depths of these songs, and I believe that today, the day of a deep red full moon eclipse, is the PERFECT day for acquiring a MANDOLIN.

Autumn in country Victoria and the recent Burmese Orphans Concert

I've been spending some time in Bright Victoria working on songs with my cousin Katie Murray, gigging and rehearsing for my UK tour. Autumn is the most beautiful time here. The air is clear and cold (it's snowing up on the mountains today!) and the leaves are the most gorgeous orange, red, yellow and brown. The Ovens River runs through the town and it is one of the most beautiful rivers I have ever seen. We have been taking our instruments down to the water to play. So blessed!

I just returned from Sydney this week where we held our most recent Oprhans fundraising gig. It was a great night and in total we raised over $1100. Thanks to that gig and the past month of shows in Victoria, I will be able to send over $2400 to the kids this week! It is great to know what a huge difference these funds will make to the chilrdren at the Phaung Daw Oo Orphanage.

I am about to head back over to the UK to finish my new album very soon. I am really looking forward to that!! :)

Magnetic Island Magic

I am staying in a gorgeous house in the rainforest on Magnetic Island QLD. I'm going to be here for a few weeks painting the album cover for my second full length album. It's been bucketing down rain for days, there are rivers everywhere. I'm surrounded by water. It's the perfect environment for watercolour painting and the rainforest trees create such beautiful shapes!

The relevence of Peregian Originals to touring musicians.

The Sunshine Coast Council is currently proposing changes to the permits for Peregian Originals, which is a fortnightly live outdoor original music concert. They are considering reducing the events from 24 per year to 12. The following is the letter I wrote to several members of the Council. I focussed specifically on the relevence of Peregian to touring artists (like me!)

I am writing to you about Peregian Originals and my concern about the proposed changes to the number of events per year. I have been a touring musician in Australia for 15 years and have played at hundreds of venues, theatres, festivals, busking, outdoor gigs, parties, house concerts, pubs and markets. In the entire 15 years I can honestly say to you that Peregian Originals is by FAR the best opportunity for artists to play to a large appreciative audience in Australia, outside the festival circuit.

I am completely opposed to the reduction of events at Peregian Originals. The reduction in scheduled concerts significantly reduces the benefits of the event to both the touring musicians of this country and to the community as well.

In 2010 I was on a 20,000 km national tour and had an accident where I rolled my car and tour caravan out near Mt Isa. In this accident I sustained serious damage to my right hand and had 5 months off. I am telling you this for two main reasons:

1. Touring in Australia as a live independent original musician and making a living from it is an incredible challenge

2. Peregian (and Nambour) Originals were the first two places that I booked to perform at when I recovered from my accident because there are so many supportive people there. Peregian makes it EASIER for artists to DO THEIR JOB.

This coming Monday I will play the biggest gig of my career so far at the Sydney Opera House, supporting UK world music super group the Afro Celt Sound System. Last week I was booked to play at Peregian Originals (we were rained out) and the week before that I played at Nambour Originals. I immediately considered playing at Peregian and Nambour in preparation for this Opera House gig, because it is literally THE ONLY ready made crowd of 400+ that I have come across IN THE ENTIRE COUNTRY!

Peregian and Nambour Originals offers artists like myself the opportunity to play in a festival-like environment, bypassing the challenging (and often fruitless) festival application process of applying months earlier. Peregian fits into the touring schedule of many touring artists perfectly because it is possible to play at pubs/music venues in the same area, and not jeopardise either event therefore supporting tour income. The Sunday afternoon time slot allows musician to gig on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday night around the area (even in Brisbane) and still play the Sunday show. It allows us to play to a great cross section of the community, people who are particularly supportive of live music. Because of the focus on original music, Peregian supports the ARTISTS to do what they do best, CREATE and PLAY.

It is increasingly more difficult to get original song work unless you are a big name. Peregian Originals offers a platform for artists to share their creativity with an audience who CARES! It is especially refreshing to play to people who aren't DRUNK, in an OUTDOOR setting as well.

Peregian Originals is a GIFT to hard working musicians like myself who rarely get a chance to just walk up and "play".

I am totally confused as to why the Sunshine Coast Council would be seeking to reduce the number of concerts when SURELY supporting an event like this is 100% in the interests of community well being, creativity, health and happiness. Not only does it offer the musicians a break from the toughness of "the road" it also provides an unrivaled and unique creative music experience for the 100's of families who come along to the shows. In addition, the obvious benefits to local businesses cannot possibly be overlooked. The purpose of this message is to present to you the standpoint of a full time musician and to the HUGE contribution that Peregian makes to touring musicians lives.

The relevence of recounting my accident was to highlight the lengths that artists can need to go to, to secure a financial return from their art. To make it financially viable, I was touring solo, traveling with a caravan, setting up and packing down my own PA by myself, playing 3 x 45 mins per day, sometimes having driven up to 800km to get to the show.

I absolutely cannot understand why the organisers of this Peregian Originals aren't receiving EVERY possible encouragement and support from the Council, for the value they are adding to the Sunshine Coast community and to the greater music community of Australia.

I would like you to consider the far reaching and inspirational effects that Peregian Originals has, (and has had FOR 11 YEARS) on the people of your region, tourists, and the traveling musicians who need every bit of support that they can get from events like this.

I could seriously write you an entire thesis on the benefits of Peregian, but feel I have said enough to give you a sense of how important this is to SO MANY PEOPLE.

I really hope that common sense is employed in this situation and that Peregian gets all the help it can, now, and in the future, from the Sunshine Coast Council.

Nambour and Peregian Originals, The Eastern Lounge and The Opera House

The coming month is shaping up to be one of the busiest and best months ever as I head back out on the road! I have a great line of gigs leading up to the Afro Celt's show at the Sydney Opera House on the 14th March.

The official press release for the ACSS show went out this week and I now have a new guitar, which sounds particularly amazing live! My 1978 Washburn Prairie Song guitar was damaged in the accident. The bright side of this is I now own a Takamine 'Santa Fe’ which has an ingenious tube pickup system (which gives a great warm sound), an amazing turquoise inlay of a Native American Indian symbol on the fret board and turquoise around the sound hole! It's beautiful and it sounds good!

According to the Takamine website it was created to reflect the sounds of the American desert south. I found out yesterday that Ed Kowalczyk from 'Live' (one of my favorite bands) plays a Takamine, and his onstage acoustic guitar sound is the best live acoustic sound I have ever heard! So it's very exciting and I'm looking forward to seeing what new songs come from it as well.

I flew up to the Sunshine Coast this weekend for Nambour Originals today and I will stay in QLD till Peregian Originals 6th March. Nambour was gorgeous today! What an amazing bunch of people and brilliant community event. Nambour and Peregian Originals are absolutely by far some of the best shows any musician could play in the country. They are community events run by donation and provide an amazing outdoor live entertainment experience. Awesome!

After that I will be back in Sydney for some radio/press interviews for the Opera House gig and a little bit of dress shopping too! :) Another great upcoming gig that week is at the Eastern Lounge on Friday 11th March.

Hand therapy is continuing, and though I can play my instruments, (thank goodness/god/goddess and anyone else who was involved, for that!!!), my hand is still quite far from being ok, but I am so lucky and grateful that it wasn't worse, so it's hard to be too upset for too long!

I look forward to sharing the joy of the next phase with you. I'm heading into the studio in Bondi, Sydney this week to put the finishing touches on an Opera House release CD which will be available on the night and also on the website afterwards. We will be releasing a new photo film clip for the song Deep Down very soon as well.

Since November 2008 I have been involved in raising money for Burmese Orphanage Phaung Daw Oo. In 2010, a couple of special Orphans shows, plus a national tour raising money for these kids, created enough for me to be able to send over $1000 per month to them. During the tour, which included over 11,111 kms of driving, I raised money at the gigs by taking a tin around to everyone in the crowd. I was overwhelmed by people's response and generosity! Below you will see the sign I had on the side of my tour caravan.

In September 2010 I had a serious car accident in which I injured my right hand and this has kept me from playing my instruments for three months. This also meant that I had to cancel my Australian tour to recover. To help continue the flow of money to the Orphans while I am off the road, I have set up an easy way for people to donate.

East Coast Tour

Sunny England! UK Tour/London recording

I landed in sunny (yes! sunny!!!) London yesterday and am so inspired to be here!! Thanks to some friends I met in Darwin, I have a couple of great places to stay here in this brilliant city. I will spend the upcoming month in England and Ireland, meeting up with musicians, producers and playing shows.

I am going to spend a few days with my friend Martin Russell in his London studio, adding some final touches to the music of the new record. Yes, I know I said the album was finished, but I am keen to add a couple more ideas into the mix before it is released!

I have been working on some band versions of Behind the Stone and Storm in the Weather with Jarren Boyd, brilliant drummer from Darwin band worldfly, and the songs are really coming to life with the kit in the mix! Very exciting and inspiring me to continue with the plan to tour with a trio/full band, once the solo UK and Aussie tours are finished this year.

Northern Territory/Orphans Concert and Album release

Hey Folks!

I have had an amazing and busy month since I last wrote. The days are flying by...I feel like I am in some kind of vehicle with the scenery constantly streaming past! Even when I'm stopped I feel like I'm moving! Maybe it's like the feeling you get when you get off a boat; you are on land, but you still feel like you are on water! Maybe it's something to do with living in a caravan. I guess it's not surprising when I have travelled over 8000 km's on the tour so far!!

I have spent the past month in the Northern Territory with quick fly by Melbourne for the wonderful Kilmore Celtic Festival. It was my 7th year at the festival and I absolutely love the energy of the people there, the music and, believe it or not the weather! Which, mid-winter, was below 5 degrees and it even snowed about 10 mins from the festival site! It was bizarre to go from 34 degrees in Darwin to 4 degrees in Melbourne in one day!

My son came up to join me on the tour and we spent three weeks in Darwin and also out in NE Arnhem Land which was really great.

The gigs have been going exceptionally well. Since March, $5500 has been collected in one small tin for the Burmese Orphans! This week we have our fourth concert for the Orphans at the Happy Yess in Darwin on Saturday 31st July. That's this Saturday night! Please tell your friends in Darwin to come along and support this event, so we can send a whole lot more money over to the kids!!

In the next two weeks we are finalising the album cover and getting it ready for release! Thank you to all those who have purchased the album and are waiting so patiently for it to arrive!!

The East Coast Album Release tour starts on the 30th September and winds up in Sydney on the 8th November! Look forward to catching up with you folks at a gig somewhere (see gigs below) and please forward the Darwin Orphans gig info to anyone you think might be able to help out or come along!

National Tour Heading to the NT and Album Release News.

Hey everyone!

The second month of the tour has been amazing with some fabulous shows up the Queensland coast. My favorite show on the tour so far was the amazing Peregian Originals on the Sunshine Coast. This great event runs every two weeks. SO MANY PEOPLE were there hanging out on the grass by the beach and enjoying an amazing afternoon of music! I was blown away by it!

I have come to realise more deeply on this tour that we are truely BLESSED to live in this beautiful country. In two weeks I will be hitting the hwy between Townsville and Darwin after 6 more shows in Nth Qld. I am looking forward to being back out in the Desert again.

I was at a gig the other night telling the punters about my adventures exploring the sandflats of Nth QLD 1 km from the shore by moonlight at midnight, when I was informed that SALT WATER CROCODILES infest the waters of Nth QLD and that I was lucky to come back from my moonlit midnight sandflat adventures ALIVE!!!! Yes apparently it is true! Needless to say I wont be chasing the tide and heading THAT FAR from the beach in the middle of the night ANYMORE!

Other tour news...

Two great human beings have been incredibly generous and lent me their Mandolins, for the next phase of my trip, so have been writing some celtic folk rock tunes recently! Now I am in Mandolin Heaven. There is something very awesome about the tone of the Mandolin! It is very Uplifting!!!!! Cant wait to get a full band behind the new songs!

National Tour/Album release scheduled for June 2010!

The first month of the tour has been a great success with some awesome shows in NSW. I spent the ANZAC weekend out at Hill End and won $70 bucks for the Orphans in the Two Up!!! Met some fabulous artists out there too which was the best ever. (Made me realise that I haven't picked up a paint brush since I left art school!!!)

A couple of great gigs this week are Grafton Hotel Friday night and Lennox Hotel on Mother's Day. It will be my first Mother's Day away from my son which is gonna feel strange I'm sure!

After these two shows, the tour will head North to Townsville, then Darwin, Adelaide, Melbourne and back to Sydney.

We will be putting on Burmese Orphans Concerts in Darwin and Adelaide over the coming months. Keep your eyes on the news page and we will let you know how you can help us with these shows. We be also be throwing album launch parties in Melbourne and Sydney towards the end of the year which I am really looking forward to.

Joy in the West

Hey Folks,

Hope you are all well! I just got back from an awesome week in WA.

We recorded the new single from the album "Pretty Big Mess" at Studio Couch in Fremantle. It was great to see three of my friends over there Dani, Shaun and Gav that I havent seen for way too many years!

I spent a week at Pirate Studios in NSW before I headed to the West, and the songs for the new record are shaping up really well. Damien Neil came into the studio and laid down an awesome bluesy violin solo in Deep Down, and Mandolin on Behind the Stone.

I played on the biggest stage that I have ever played on at the Toodyay Bushfire Benefit Concert last Sunday! It was so much FUN!!

Living in a Gypsy Caravan

Hey folks!

Hope you are all well! Happy New Year! Thought I would update on the journey so far. Im feeling so inspired by the start of this bright new year! For those of you who havent heard yet, I am living in a caravan, touring around Australia to support the release of my new album. It is such a beautiful way of life and it suits me perfectly to be on the road playing music full time! It really is all I have ever wanted to do! The tour will take in all of mainland Australia in 2010.

This morning I woke up at my mum's farm on the South coast of NSW with a misty mountain at my doorstep. I am recording the new album just down the road at Pirate Studios. I feel so blessed! This record has been shaping up for a couple of years now and I am so excited to release this group of songs to the world!!

2010 is becoming a huge year with the new record release, the national tour and fund raising concerts for the Burmese Orphans at Phaung Daw Oo. I have also been announced as a Finalist in the 2010 Toyota Starmaker competition which is very exciting!!

Baiba James of BJ Planet Star entertainment is my new manager and she is a wonderful woman! We are booking gig dates for the tour right now!

Grand Finalist Melbourne Fresh Industry Showcase

Hey everyone,

I am playing in the Grand Final of the Melbourne Fresh Industry Showcases on Tuesday 22nd Dec. The brilliantly talented Damien Neil will be performing with me at this show.

I have had a terrible time the last few weeks though. I got my wisdom teeth out and it was the worst! I have been sick from the operation since then and its pretty hard to sing at the moment, but hopefully I will be on the mend really soon!

We are starting the recording of the new album on Dec 28th 2009 which is very exciting. Luckily we are tracking the drums first so I have a bit more time to get better before I have to sing!

Just drove up from Melbourne to the south coast NSW today. We went the long way via the Hume Hwy and blew a tyre on the caravan on the way. It was a pretty spectacular blow out, tyre all over the road!!! The van has light truck tyres on it now though so I'm gonna be ok for the massive tour next year.

The best bit about the blow out was that while we were waiting for the "rack-v guy" (RACV guy-my son calls him the rack-v guy), two wedge tailed eagles flew down right above the car!!! It was pretty awesome!

Hi Everyone,

We just wanted to say a massive thankyou to EVERYBODY who has donated to the orphans or bought a concert ticket in the past few months. We just sent over the next lot of money to the kids which was $1500.

We are so grateful to you all for making those donations and trusting us with your support! The kids are going to benefit from our efforts SO MUCH.

I just spent three days with the fabulous Dave Sparks on the Pirate Ship in Tathra and we are cooking up some awesome craziness in there for the new record. Looks like we will be recording the album over late December into Jan before the tour starts, so hang onto your hats folks cause the wind just hit the sails big time and we are heading for the deep waters of album number three!!!!!

Back from the recent tour with $1000 for the Orphans!

Hey Folks!

Been really busy touring lately and I only spent 15 hours at home in the past 6 weeks! The recent tour took me to Cairns, NSW and Tasmania. I flew in from Tassie at 8pm one night, dumped my ski jacket and thermals, grabbed my swimmers and beach towel and flew out to Cairns at 4am the next morning! We had an awesome time at all the shows and in one week we went from snow on Mt Wellington in Hobart, to 30 degrees on the beach in Cairns!!! It's been lots of work but worth it!

Thanks to everyone who has donated to the Orphans over the past few shows especially the folks in Tassie, the crew at Newcastle Blues Fest, Illawarra Folk Club and the Foodbowl Music Festival in Victoria. You all helped us to raise over $1000 for the kids at Phaung Daw Oo in Burma. We are so grateful thankyou!!

We will look forward to catching up with anyone who is going to Music at the Creek in November.

We just got back from the Foodbowl Music Festival in Victoria and the music is really shaping up to the vision that I have for it which is exciting. Great News!! 2010 National Tour Announcement

Hey Folks!!

Big news is the announcement of a National Tour of mainland Australia in 2010 which will begin on the 8th January 2010 and finish in Perth in July. This means full time touring next year. I am looking forward to playing so many shows!

The tour will also concentrate on fund raising for the Orphans as well as the release of the first single from my new album.

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to say a huge THANKYOU to everyone that donated to the orphans money tin or came along to one of our first two concerts. Thanks also to our wonderful artists; The Yearlings, Pugsley Buzzard, Jez Mead and Epicure, who donated their time to perform and also the venues; The Thornbury Theatre and The Tanks Arts Centre who have been so supportive!!

As a result we are happy to announce that we recently sent almost $2000 over to the kids. This money will be used for food for the children from the cyclone.

Thanks so much for opening this e-mail. LAST YEAR'S CYCLONE DISASTER IN BURMA LEFT THOUSANDS OF CHILDREN

HOMELESS AND ORPHANED!!!!!!

Many of the children from this disaster are being cared for by a group of loving and devoted Monks at Burmese Orphanage

School Phaung Daw Oo. There are many orphans, as well as homeless children and children from very poor families attending this orphanage.

In total over 7000 children!!!! In addition, the Orphanage also provides one meal a day to street children. Please help us!!!

For some time now we have been working on creating a series of dynamic concerts to raise money for these children.

You may have already heard about our exciting project! We are pleased to announce that each line-up for the first two Orphans

Concerts is complete.

Our opening event at The Thornbury Theatre in Melbourne on the 23rd May 2009 will feature:

If you know any well-known people who might be willing to offer us assistance, we ask you to contact them personally and see if they are willing to support this worthwhile project.

Our aim is to broadcast this to as many people as we can and we are relying on the goodwill of caring and loving people to send this out for us. There are many children already at the Orphanage, and it is clear from the photos attached, that the children are benefiting greatly from support the Orphanage is giving them. There are however many more children still in plight, so we need YOUR help to put smiles of joy on the faces of those children also. YOUR SUPPORT WILL CHANGE THE LIVES OF THESE CHILDREN FOREVER. Please help provide them with a loving and caring environment in which they can heal their wounds and feel loved and cared for......

All the money after expenses for the concert goes straight to the Monks at the Orphanage to help the kids.

New songs!!! Pretty Big Mess, Behind the Stone and Not My Island

Hey Folks!!!

Album number two...release number three is underway!!! Boat left the docks in Tathra on Monday and me and Dave Sparks started pulling apart and putting back together the rigging and tarring the hull, and setting the sails for the trip that is the next record.......

You can check out the first proper demos above...they are still being built and messed about with...but they are the first little tunes putting some wind into the sails of this sailor who is...only just...now...after all this time...figuring out how to Captain the ship.

Hey everyone,

Been a while since I had a chance to write. Been on the road again. In Tassie and up and down the NSW coast like a lunatic driving 2658 km's in the last week! (NB I wasnt driving like a lunatic, just a lunatic for thinking I could fit in so much!!!) But man, every boring and lonely stretch of highway was worth it for the AWESOME PEOPLE I have been meeting!! All the AWESOME PEOPLE....except for the LOOSER at the Sando in Newtown on the 9th April who STOLE THE MONEY TIN FOR THE ORPHANS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can you believe it?? Yes, you can believe it...I know it...I should have known it... ANYWAY>>>>>We have ANOTHER TIN NOW, and thanks to the folks at The Same Same Cafe last night in Candelo and the ones from The Sando the night before, the Orphans money tin is once again too heavy to hold in one hand. Yippeeeeeee!!

THANKYOU to everyone who made the last few weeks so great. Epicure to play our first concert for the Orphans

Hey Folks!

There is exciting news in the development of our Orphans Concert series. Epicure will performing at our first show at the Thornbury Theatre in Melbourne on the 23rd May. Epicure will be supported by Pugsley Buzzard, myself and one other band soon to be announced. Please tell your friends!!! We want to raise as much money as we can to buy some houses for the orphans.

We have some great merchandise being sent to us by some awesome artists, so we can raise extra revenue for the Orphans on the night. We will announce the artists who are donating Cd's, t-shirts and other merchandise very soon. If you would like to be a part of the show and can help in any way, please get in touch.

The concert series will continue with shows in Cairns in July, Sydney in August/September, then Brisbane, Darwin and Adelaide later in the year.

Press Release: Rebecca Moore and Josh Wellington The Annexe Space, Bega

As a precursor to the Cobargo Folk Festival, Bega Valley Regional Gallery is pleased to present Melbourne contemporary folk musician Rebecca Moore supported by local musician Josh Wellington for the first Annexe Space gig of the year. By popular demand Rebecca has returned to Bega for another gig.

Rebecca is a gifted songwriter with ability to transport audiences on an emotional and metaphorical journey. She has been compared to Tori Amos and Joni Mitchell; however she maintains a distinct individuality and an awesome creative presence.

Rebecca Moore has just been nominated for the Best Female Vocalist Award at the 2008 Newcastle Music Awards and has also been a Finalistin the ABC Newcastle Music Awards Blues and Roots Award, 2004. In 2001 Rebecca won the APRA Professional Development Award in the Rock category.

Rebecca is currently working on her next album with Dave Sparks (The Saints/The Lime Spiders) at Pirate Studios in Tathra NSW.

The Bega Valley Regional Gallery holds regular gigs at the Annexe Space (below the Bega Bowling Club) on the third Thursday of every month. The Gallery brings bands from around Australia to the area, and organises local musicians to support them.

Can you help us provide a loving home and shelter for some orphans in Burma? Please take a moment to read this message.

We are organising a concert to support an orphanage where there are currently 7000 plus orphans who have lost their parents in the recent cyclone in the Irrawaddy Delta area of Burma. Many are currently being looked after by the Monks of the Phaung Daw Oo Monastery Orphanage School (PDO). The Monks have purchased 2 homes already, but desperately need help to purchase more.

This concert will raise funds to help the Monks buy or build another home for more of these homeless children.

It is amazing to see the children together with the Monks. Photos illustrate the amazing difference a loving environment and a home can make in a very short time to these children, as you will see in their eyes. If you would like me to send you a copy of the photo presentation which shows a great transformation in the kids, please message me.

Would YOU be willing to perform at this concert or help out in any way? We are contemplating a one night concert, (or series of concerts depending on the response) to be staged in Melbourne sometime between February and April 2009.

Currently myself and Pugsley Buzzard Wateringcan will be performing. We are looking for other artists who will help make the show a great success. Below you will find links to the artists already performing.
